I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Former twice unified boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
